6:30pm CDT (4/19/96) -
The same supercell that caused
the Jacksonville tornado, but
roughly 15 minutes later.
A well-defined hook echo shown here in the LSX reflectivities.
Two mesocyclones are visible in this image. The northern signature
was embedded in a supercell which spawned a tornado that
struck Bloomington,
Illinois. The mesocyclone associated with the
Springfield tornado was
not as well defined at this time.
